Compassionate: There are few things that her heart strays from. If someone needs medical assistance, she will give care whole-heartedly and without bias.
Realistic: She understands that she cannot save everyone and everything she sees. But she tries her hardest to provide the best care to her patients. But if she sees there is no hope, she will use her resources carefully and make the person comfortable in their last hours.
Silly: She has somewhat of a sarcastic sense of humor, and will even laugh at the most pointless types of comedy.
Determined: If it is to provide optimal care; she will forego sleep, skip meals and travel great distances to do so.
Open: She is used to hearing much from her patients and often shares her life experiences with others; usually ending in lengthy conversations.

Destin Emia was born on November 21, 1869. Her mother (Giovanna Fiore) traveled with a up-and-coming physician and found herself staying in Rome for a few years where she met her husband; Destin's father (Henry Emia) who was a well-respected naval officer. Destin's mother had continued to work along side the doctor for many more years as the young girl grew up. The doctor even allowed them to live with him until they could find a home for themselves. Henry was gone for extended periods of time due to turbulent times but always came home with exiting tales of war, travel and amazing sights. Destin grew up with the gruesome and strange and often saught out to see all the strange procedures that her mother's boss performed.

Somewhere along the way, Destin began experimenting with medicines and discovered that it came quite naturally to her to care for other living beings. But she hated the idea of testing on animals and tried her hardest to find homeopathic methods of treatment for her animal 'patients'. When her mother discovered what she was doing, she sat down and had a long talk with the girl; discussing her hidden bloodline. The reason knowledge had come so easy to the girl. The reason she was drawn to healing others, the same way her mother. She had remnants of an ancient family bloodline that was tied to unicorns. This news amazed the young lady even more and only fueled her determination to heal those around her.

By the time Destin was 20, she had a mini practice of her own and had graduated from treating animals. She had a short list of dedicated patients and had been studying under her mother's boss. She just accomplished her first major surgery and became well known in the region. But as fate would have it, Destin was not bound to this place she called home. A jealous doctor did not approve of women as doctors and murdered Destin's mother and her boss. Upon the discovery, Destin shut herself in her home for weeks and only left her confines when her father had finally returned from another trip. News of the tragedy was too much for Henry and later that evening he committed suicide. It was then, that Destin had chosen to leave it all behind and see what else life had to offer.

She was not happy to be without her loved ones but she was not one to dwell over the inevitable. She'd cried enough and wanted to experience some of the things her father spoke of. It was time for her to live a little. Upon the few weeks of lone travel, she happened upon an amazing sight. The Cirque des Reves had come to the location she was staying at and she could not believe her eyes. All these people were so unique and wonderous. She wanted to be part of that strange world and travel until she could no longer walk. And thus.. History.
